2010年になると、エアバス社はA320を更に改良した、A320neo(New Engine Option）の製造を発表した。A320neoは従来型に比べて、燃費面で15％の低減、騒音面で50％の低減がなされていて、2016年の時点で世界各国から4500機以上の受注を受ける大ヒットとなった。
